President Bola Tinubu, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and business leader, Tony Elumelu have been named among Nigeria’s 100 most powerful and influential individuals in a newly released power list compiled by Maddtimes.

The publication, a premium coffee table compendium, spotlights leading figures across politics, business, traditional institutions, and public life.

Other notable personalities featured, include advertising veteran, Biodun Shobanjo and banking executive, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, alongside several influential Nigerians shaping the country’s trajectory.

Spanning 537 pages, the collector’s edition is the result of over seven months of extensive research, profiling, and editorial work led by Joseph Edgar, who serves as both publisher and editor.

The book is positioned as one of the most detailed independent documentations of power, leadership, and influence in contemporary Nigeria.

With the central theme: “Visionary Leadership as a Catalyst for National Socio-Economic Growth,” it features 50 essays contributed by respected intellectuals and public figures.

Among the contributors are former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, legal scholar, Prof. Kanyinsola Ajayi, policy analyst, Magnus Onyibe, and former lawmaker, Dakuku Peterside.

According to Edgar, the project aims to present a well-rounded narrative of leadership by highlighting individuals who have made significant societal impact, while also acknowledging those whose actions have attracted public scrutiny.

“The list reflects the good, the bad, and the complex realities of influence,” he noted, underscoring the publication’s commitment to editorial balance and historical accuracy.

Each of the 100 honourees is profiled through detailed biographical essays, complemented by custom illustrations, offering a blend of art, history, and commentary on leadership.

The Maddtimes Power List is scheduled for an official launch in October 2026, with unveiling events planned in Lagos and Abuja.

It is expected to serve as a key reference for scholars, policymakers, corporate leaders, and historians interested in understanding power dynamics and influence in Nigeria.
