President Bola Tinubu on Monday called on state governors to intensify efforts toward prioritizing citizens’ welfare, declaring that investment in the people remains the most valuable asset in a democratic system.
The president made the remarks in Yola while commissioning projects executed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State.
Tinubu stressed that effective governance must be firmly rooted in the needs and aspirations of the populace, noting that democracy flourishes when leaders implement policies that tangibly improve living standards.

Tinubu also underscored the need for closer collaboration between federal and state governments to ensure development projects reach grassroots communities.
Commending Gov. Fintiri’s performance, the president described him as “a true reflection of who we are as a united people,” and encouraged residents to continue supporting their elected leaders to enable them fulfill their mandates.
Tinubu expressed confidence in the state’s trajectory, saying he sees hope in the faces of Adamawa residents and reiterating his call for leaders at all levels to carry the people along in governance.
