President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates from the list earlier confirmed by the Senate.
The approval was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday night by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.
The statement confirms that Ambassador Ayodele Oke has been posted to France, while Colonel Lateef Are has been appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States.
President Tinubu also approved the posting of Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, a former envoy to South Korea, as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
In addition, former Kebbi State Governor, Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, has been appointed Ambassador-designate to Turkey. His posting precedes President Tinubu’s planned state visit to the country next week.

The President has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally notify the host countries of the appointments in accordance with established diplomatic protocols.
It will be recalled that President Tinubu forwarded the first batch of ambassadorial nominees to the Senate in November, following nearly two years of vacant diplomatic missions. Additional nominees were submitted subsequently.
By December, the Senate had confirmed a total of 67 nominees.
The four postings announced are part of the previously approved list of confirmed ambassadors.
Other nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate include former presidential aide Reno Omokri; former INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu; former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode; and former Oyo State First Lady, Fatima Florence Ajimobi.
