President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Executive Management of 12 River Basin Development Authorities across the nation under the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the president on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga indicates that each of the management of the authorities is made up of six members including chairman and managing director.
According to the statement, Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority with headquarters at Abeokuta, Ogun State has Hon Odebunmi Olusegun from Oyo State as chairman, while Engr. Dr. Adedeji Ashiru from Osun State is Managing Director. The Basin covers Lagos, Oyo, Ogun and Osun States
The Upper Benue River Basin Authority with headquarters in Yola, Adamawa State covering Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe and Bauchi States has Alh. Sanusi Mohammed Babantanko from Bauchi as Chairman whiie
Samuel Mahmud Mohammed from Taraba is Managing Director
The Chad Basin Authority with headquarters in Maiduguri,Borno State and covering Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States has Prof. Abdu Dauda from Borno State as Chairman while Tijjani Musa Tumsa from Yobe State is Managing Director
Benin-Owena Development Authority with headquarters in Benin, Edo State covers Edo, Ondo,Ekiti States and Delta North. It bas Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo from Edo State as Chairman while Femi Adekanbi from Ondo State is Managing Director.
Others are Niger Delta Basin Authority with headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State covering Rivers, Bayelsa and parts of Delta
Chief (Barr.) Ebikemi Boi Bosin from Delta State is Chairman while Hon. Amgbare Ebitimi from Bayelsa is Managing Director
The Upper Niger River Basin Authority with headquarters in Minna, Niger State covers Niger, Kaduna and FCT and has Haruna Y. Usman from Niger as Chairman whiie Dangajere Shuaibu Bawa Jaja from Kaduna State is Managing Director.
Lower Niger River Basin Authority having its headquarters in Ilorin Kwara State covers only Kwara and Kogi States. Alh. Abdullateef Alakawa from Kwara State is Chairman while
Engr. George Olumoroti from Kogi State is Managing Director

Lower Benue River Basin Authority and headquarters in Makurdi Benue State covers Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa and Kogi States. The chairman is Dr Amos Gizo Yadukso from Plateau State and Engr. Ninga Terese from Benue State Managing Director
Anambra- Imo River Basin Authority having its headquarters in Owerri , Imo State covers the five eastern states ofAnambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi . Senator Emmanuel Anosike from Anambra State is Chairman, while Rt. Hon. Emeka Nduka from Imo State is Managing Director
The rest are Hadeja -Jamere River Basin Authority,Kano covering Kano, Jigawa and Bauchi . States. It has Mamman Da’u Aliyu from Jigawa State as Chairman and Engr. Rabiu Suleiman Bichi from Kano State as Managing Director Director.
Cross River Basin based in Calabar covers only Cross River and Akwa Ibom States.
Mr. Wabilly Nyiam from Cross River State is chairman, while Mrs. Glory Ekpo Oho from Akwa I om State is Managing Director.
The Sokoto River Basin Authority covers Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Katsina States. It has Hon. Bello Yahaya Wurno from Sokoto as Chairman while Abubakar Mallam from Kebbi as Managing Director
The statement said President Tinubu expects the appointees to use their wealth of experience to bolster the efficiency of the organisations, in line with the administration’s commitment to bettering the lives of citizens.
