In the latest appointments approved by the President, General Olufemi Oluyede has been named the new Chief of Defence Staff, succeeding General Christopher Musa. Major-General W. Shaibu takes over as Chief of Army Staff, while Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke becomes the new Chief of Air Staff. Rear Admiral I. Abbas has been appointed Chief of Naval Staff.
The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye retains his position, signaling continuity in strategic intelligence operations.

According to the Presidency, the appointments take immediate effect, with formal handover processes expected to begin in the coming days.
The reshuffle comes a few days after the rumored forceful takeover of Tinubu administration by top military personnel.
