President Bola Tinubu has named Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma as the Renewed Hope ambassador ahead of the nationwide rollout of the federal government’s ward development programme.
The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled: “President Tinubu appoints Governor Uzodimma as Renewed Hope ambassador.”
In this new role, Gov. Uzodimma will also serve as the director-general for party outreach, engagement, and mobilisation, effectively becoming the Tinubu administration’s chief advocate and grassroots mobiliser.
“With this appointment, effective immediately, Governor Uzodimma will collaborate with the All Progressives Congress leadership and fellow governors to promote and evangelise the Tinubu administration’s programmes nationwide,” the statement said.
As a Renewed Hope ambassador, Gov. Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors’ Forum, will coordinate efforts among APC governors, ensuring inclusiveness, harmony, and strategic alignment within the party.
He will lead mobilization initiatives aimed at strengthening support for the federal government’s policies at the ward and grassroots levels.
The appointment comes as the federal government prepares to launch the ward development programme, a key pillar of the Renewed Hope agenda designed to deliver micro-projects, social services, and livelihood support directly to Nigeria’s 8,809 electoral wards.

Onanuga also cited increased investor confidence, growth in foreign direct investment and portfolio inflows, and diversification efforts across oil, gas, and solid minerals.
The statement added that over 700,000 students had benefited from a liberalised student loan scheme and that passport services had improved, reducing processing times to one week.
In his message to Gov. Uzodimma, Tinubu tasked him with ensuring that Nigerians are aware of and understand the administration’s achievements, reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope across the country.
