President Bola Tinubu has appointed Olumode Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), which was signed by its Secretary, Abdulmalik Jibrin.
“This appointment comes as the current Controller-General, Abdulganiyu Olola, is set to retire on August 1, 2025, upon reaching the age of 60.
“DCG Olumode Adeyemi brings extensive experience to his new position, having transitioned from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose to the rank of deputy controller-general of fire in the human resource directorate at the service headquarters.
“Throughout his career, he has completed all required in-service training, command courses, and additional training both domestically and internationally.

“He has held various roles and is also a member or fellow of several professional organizations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
“The board expresses its gratitude to the retiring Controller-General, Abdulganiyu Olola, for his significant contributions to the Federal Fire Service, recognizing his dedication and commitment, as well as the many initiatives he led during his tenure,” the statement concluded.
