Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has issued a scathing rebuke to former ministers Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi, demanding that they apologize to Nigerians for their roles in the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
In a recent interview with Arise TV, Lamido did not hold back as he criticized the two political figures for their recent comments about the APC’s struggles. According to him, both men were instrumental in bringing the ruling party to power and should take full responsibility for its failures instead of attempting to distance themselves.
“If El-Rufai believes the APC is failing, he should be the first to apologize to Nigerians because he played a role in bringing the party to power,” Lamido asserted, making it clear that deflecting blame was not an option.

The former governor also pointed out that El-Rufai and Amaechi both rose to political prominence under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before later turning against it. He accused them of betraying the party that once nurtured their careers, only to find themselves at odds with the APC years later.
“The PDP made them politically relevant, yet they insulted the party that gave them a platform. If they are now speaking about opposition and governance failures, they should first seek forgiveness from Nigerians for the problems they helped create,” Lamido stated.
His remarks have sparked conversations across political circles, with many questioning whether El-Rufai and Amaechi will respond to the call for apologies.
