Golf legend Tiger Woods recently shared a cringe-worthy moment that left his TGL teammates Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim in stitches. The 49-year-old, representing the Jupiter Links team in the innovative indoor golf tournament, recounted how a simple yardage misunderstanding turned into one of the most embarrassing incidents of his career.
During play, Woods found himself positioned 199 yards from the hole on the 13th after his tee shot. However, a miscommunication with his caddie led him to select a wedge for his next shot. The result? The ball traveled only 99 yards—leaving him an awkward 100 yards short of the target.
As Woods attempted to process the error, his caddie’s call of “99” suddenly made sense. In golf, caddies often omit the first number when they assume the distance is obvious, but this time, the assumption led to a high-profile mishap. Watching from the sidelines, Kisner and Kim couldn’t contain their laughter, collapsing to the floor in amusement.
“This has been one of the most embarrassing moments of my golfing career,” Woods admitted. “I just screwed up. That was embarrassing.”

The blunder added to Jupiter Links’ woes as they suffered a crushing 10-3 defeat at the hands of the New York Golf Club.
The match was also Woods’ first public appearance since the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, on February 4. In a touching moment, his 16-year-old son, Charlie, walked alongside him at the SoFi Center in California for Tuesday’s event.
Kultida, a longtime supporter of her son’s career, had last watched him play at the same arena on January 27, making the moment even more poignant for the golf icon.
