Their decision was formally communicated through individual letters addressed to the Speaker. In his letter, Hon. Abdullahi Dabai expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State Governor, Mallam Dikko Umaru Radda (Ph.D.), for what he described as a warm and supportive political reception into the APC.
“I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Tukur Radda (Ph.D), for the home reception accorded to me,” Dabai wrote.
Speaker Abbas acknowledged the defections and welcomed the lawmakers to the APC with enthusiasm. His remark on the floor of the House sparked loud applause:
“Distinguished colleague, here we have Honourable Abdullah, who has officially decamped. So members of PDP, APC, NNPP, and Labour should please congratulate him by appreciating him for this very timely decision, for joining the greatest party in Africa.”
