Rainstorm has killed three people, injured several others and destroyed many homes in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The rainstorm which started on Saturday and lasted till Sunday, affected several communities in the area, with Kankara town, Nasarawa and Matsiga communities mostly affected.
While one person was said to have died in Nasarawa community, the other two who were women, lost their lives at Matsiga community.
One of the victims, whom sources said lost her life after the wall of her room collapsed on her, was buried on Sunday morning according to Islamic rites.

Local authorities were still trying to determine extent of damage to humans, homes and farmlands as at time of this report.
Abdulkarim Sani, an information officer at the council area, confirmed the incident Sunday morning.
Sani said a staff of the information unit of the council, Surajo Zabo, lost his wife to the rainstorm.
He said several communities and homes were affected by the rainstorm, but that the actual number would be determined at a later time.
As at time of this report, officials of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) were yet to issue any statement or respond to inquiry on the incident.
