Terry Apala has been remanded in Ikoyi Prison over naira mutilation allegation, today April 25, 2025
This charge stems from an incident during an event at La Madison Place, Oniru, back in January, where it was alleged that Apala deliberately trampled on naira notes, an act that contravenes Section 21(1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, 2007.
The legal proceedings are set to commence on May 5, 2025, where Apala, who has pleaded not guilty to the accusations, faces substantial scrutiny.
Despite his denial, videos circulating on social media claim to show him stepping on the denominations of the Nigerian currency, adding to the mounting evidence against him.
In a related development, law enforcement agencies, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the police, have intensified their enforcement of laws regarding naira abuse following the public outcry that accompanied the earlier arrest of well-known crossdresser Bobrisky earlier this year.

Complicating matters, activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) released a controversial video alleging that Apala attempted to bribe the EFCC to evade legal consequences.
This accusation quickly gained traction online, sparking a wave of speculation and outrage among fans and the general public.
In response to the bribery allegations, Apala, through his legal team, has firmly denied any wrongdoing.
He has issued a stern 48-hour ultimatum to VDM, demanding the immediate removal of the video and a formal apology.
The musician has threatened to pursue legal action against VDM if these demands are not met, indicating the seriousness with which he regards these allegations and his desire to clear his name.
