The Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, has imposed a strict curfew on Oghior Community after days of violent unrest that left several houses burned and property destroyed. The order, which takes effect at once, restricts movement from 6 in the evening to 6 in the morning as authorities race to stop the turmoil from spreading.
The announcement was released on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Henry Ubus, who confirmed that the Chairman directed all security agencies in the area to open fire on sight on anyone carrying illegal weapons or attempting to stir new violence. Oyibode described the situation as a threat to public safety and argued that decisive steps were needed to protect lives.

He said the council would not tolerate criminal groups dragging Oghior or any part of Udu into chaos. He appealed to residents to stay calm, follow the curfew, and cooperate with security personnel now stationed across the community.
The Chairman added that the council, working with security formations in the region, would maintain close watch over the situation until stability is fully restored.
