The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, has called on the Power Sector Communications Team (PSCT) to adopt a unified voice in delivering information to the public, stressing that consistent and transparent messaging is key to building trust in Nigeria’s electricity industry.
Speaking during the PSCT’s bi-monthly meeting hosted at TCN’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday, August 11, 2025, Engr. Abdulaziz praised the team for its sustained collaboration across the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI). He said coordinated communication is vital not only for aligning sector-wide narratives but also for highlighting the federal government’s ongoing efforts to transform the nation’s power sector.
The TCN boss emphasized that while significant progress is being made in the sector, including the completion of major projects, upgrades to critical infrastructure, and the implementation of key reforms, these achievements risk being overlooked without strategic and effective public engagement. He urged each PSCT member to fully understand developments within their own organization and those of other agencies in the sector, enabling them to deliver a unified message that inspires public confidence.

Participants reaffirmed their resolve to intensify collaboration, share accurate updates, and ensure transparency in all media engagements. The PSCT, made up of Heads of Corporate Communications and Public Relations from government-owned agencies in the power value chain, serves as the central platform for harmonizing information, coordinating sector-wide messaging, and ensuring Nigerians remain well-informed about power sector developments.
With stakeholders united in their mission, the meeting underscored a renewed push for effective storytelling that reflects the sector’s achievements and progress, reinforcing the message that transparency and consistency are the cornerstones of public trust in Nigeria’s power industry.
