Chairman of the Taraba State Board of Internal Revenue Services, retired Brig. Gen. Jeremiah Faransa, has advocated for the Southern Taraba Kefas Medium Tennis Competition to be held annually, describing it as a crucial platform for youth development and talent discovery.
Speaking at the recently held tournament in Wukari, organized by the Kefas Agbu Campaign Organization, Faransa applauded the participating tennis clubs for their impressive turnout and the high level of competition displayed.
He emphasized the importance of such events in identifying and nurturing young talents capable of representing Taraba State at the national level.
Expressing satisfaction with the quality of matches and conduct of the players, the retired general praised the Wukari Tennis Club for producing top professionals like coach Bulus and Joel Adi Gani.

He also paid tribute to the late Scarface, credited with introducing tennis to Wukari, and stressed the importance of preserving his legacy.
Faransa described Wukari as the tennis capital of Taraba and called for the renovation and modernization of its tennis facilities to enable the town host future tournaments.
He noted that regular competitions would not only energize the local economy but also provide athletes with vital experience.
He further commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his strong support for sports development and proposed that the Wukari Tennis Club be developed into a training hub for engaging youths, fostering social cohesion, and building inter-state relationships through sports.
