Dry season farmers in Donada community in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State, are celebrating as the state government has provided them with the much-needed fertilizers to boost agricultural production.
Many farmers in the state rely on dry-season farming to sustain their livelihoods, and the timely intervention of the state government in distributing fertilizers to farmers, is expected to improve crop yields significantly.
Speaking to reporters, some farmers who received the fertilizers, expressed their appreciation to the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Nicholas Nemessan, and the state government for their support, noting that access to fertilizers has been a major challenge for dry season farmers.
Led by Smith Nicodemus, the farmers who also lauded the efforts of the Special Adviser on Agriculture to the governor, Zanau Maikasuwa, said the fertilizers will go a long way in boosting dry season farming in the community and its environs.

They said the initiative will help them maximize productivity, and ensure a successful farming season.
Government officials emphasized that the fertilizer distribution, is part of broader efforts to promote agriculture and economic development in the state.
They assured farmers of the government’s continued support through similar initiatives, aimed at improving food production and rural livelihoods.
With the dry season farming in full swing, expectations are high that the assistance will lead to increased harvests, benefiting both farmers and consumers in Taraba State and beyond.
