The Chairman of the Taraba State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Moses Maihankali, has expressed confidence in the preparedness of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, following the successful completion of the party’s internal congresses across the state.
Maihankali made the statement on Thursday during an interactive session with journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital. He disclosed that the party had successfully concluded its ward, local government, and state congresses without major challenges.
According to him, the peaceful and orderly conduct of the congresses marks a major milestone in strengthening the party’s grassroots structure throughout Taraba State.

Maihankali expressed optimism that the APC would secure victories at all levels of government during the 2027 general elections. He attributed this confidence to what he described as the continued support of the people of Taraba State for the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas.
He noted that residents remain committed to the governor’s development agenda and vision for the state, adding that the party intends to build on this support as it moves toward future elections.
The ALGON chairman also urged party members to remain united, disciplined, and focused, stressing that internal cohesion would be critical in achieving the party’s electoral objectives.
Maihankali further commended Governor Agbu Kefas and other party stakeholders for ensuring that the congresses were conducted peacefully and transparently across the state.
He described the emergence of new party officials through the congress process as commendable, expressing confidence that they would provide effective leadership as the party works toward greater progress and electoral success in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
