Reality TV personality Tacha Akide has critized a student from Obafemi Awolowo University, David Adefesobi Ojuko who recently forgave a fellow student who falsely accused him of rape.
The controversy started when a female student publicly claimed that David had raped her during an online argument. The allegation quickly spread on social media, leading to significant backlash and harming his reputation.
However, the accuser later retracted her statement, admitting that her claim was untrue. In a public apology, she expressed remorse, stating, “I want to sincerely apologize to David Adefesobi Ojuko for falsely accusing him of rape. The allegation was not true and was made in the heat of the moment during an argument. David never raped me.”
After the retraction, David initially sought compensation and a public acknowledgment of the false claim due to the damage it caused to his reputation. However, after discussions involving both families, he chose to forgive her.

In announcing his decision, David expressed his desire to move on, saying, “I have decided to forgive her and let this matter end here. I believe everyone deserves a chance to learn from their mistakes.”
In response to this development, former Big Brother Naija contestant Tacha criticized David’s choice, emphasizing that false accusations of rape should not be taken lightly. “False rape accusations are not a joke. Situations like this are exactly why real victims struggle to be believed,” she remarked in a social media post.
She further argued that those who make serious allegations without evidence should face repercussions. “If people can just lie about something this serious and walk away, then we’re encouraging more of it. There has to be accountability,” she added.
