With the National Sports Festival approaching in Ogun State, the Imo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) is urging the state administration to promptly allocate funds for athletes who are currently preparing for the event.
In a press release following their May 2025 Congress in Owerri, which was signed by the Chairman Cosmos Chukwuemeka and Secretary Tunde Liadi, the association expressed discontent over the ongoing delay in funds being released to Team Imo.
The organization emphasized that securing these resources would allow the team to prepare effectively for Nigeria’s Olympic events scheduled to start on Sunday.
