Suspected herdsmen have killed two people and left one other with severe injuries in Agadama-Uwheru community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The latest incident is coming months after the brutal killing of some policemen on a rescue mission of their kidnapped colleagues.

Even though the details of the attack still remain sketchy, it was learnt that the herdsmen ambushed the three persons in their farm at Agadama community, killing two persons, while one narrowly escaped with injuries.

A source identified two of the three men, as Mr. Eyabrokere Irhe, and Mr. Okeoghene Record, adding that the victims were attacked in their farms.

“While they were working in their farms, the herdsmen attacked them, and stabbed Eyabrokere on the stomach, and the other two persons initially escaped, leaving the victim in his pool of blood.

“After a while, two of them returned in an attempt to rescue the injured victim. Unknowingly to them, the Fulani herdsmen laid ambushed waiting for their return to rescue their person.

“While they were about to take the injured victim from the farm, the herdsmen came again, and in the process, Mr. Okeoghene Record was killed just as the stabbed Eyabrokere was shot again.

“The one who was lucky to escape with injuries from the armed herdsmen came to inform the community of the unfortunate incident, and a search party was sent to recover their remains.

“When the search party got to the scene, they were able to recover the corpse of Eyabrokere, while that of Okeoghene was missing.

“It was after some hours that the corpse of Okeoghene was recovered after an intensive search, but the suspected Fulani herdsmen were nowhere to be found.
