Residents of Sunkani community and staff of the Taraba State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) project have expressed excitement following the inspection of the proposed L-PRES office site ahead of its official inauguration.

Members of the flag-off committee visited the project site over the weekend to evaluate the progress of work in preparation for the formal groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for February 27, 2026. The event is expected to be performed by Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas.

The project is situated in Sunkani, the administrative headquarters of Ardo-Kola Local Government Council.

During the inspection, committee members confirmed that the contractor has been fully mobilized to site. Ongoing construction activities, including the erection of the perimeter fence, were observed.

Leading the delegation, the Animal Health Service Officer, Dr. Bunsheya Daudu, expressed satisfaction with the pace of work. He stated that all necessary arrangements had been finalized to ensure a successful flag-off ceremony.

Some committee members who spoke to journalists commended the World Bank, Governor Kefas, and the leadership of L-PRES for approving the siting of the office in Sunkani instead of Jalingo, the state capital.

They noted that the project would serve as a catalyst for development in the community and across Ardo-Kola Local Government Area once completed.

The committee reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitor the construction process to guarantee strict adherence to approved standards and quality delivery.
