Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has warned contractors handling various construction and renovations of classrooms to desist from compromising work standard and ensure timely completion of the projects.

Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Altine Shehu Kajiji gave the warning shortly after inspecting some of the ongoing projects in the state capital.

Alhaji Kajiji said the call became necessary as the state government/UBE 2019 intervention projects were aimed at providing improved learning atmosphere thereby reducing congestion in all the basic schools across the state.

According to him, those handling the renovation exercise have two months, while the new ones have three months to complete the work.

Alhaji Kajiji said the baard under his watch was committed to go round all the areas where the contract was awarded to monitor the speed and quality of the work being executed by contractors.

He, however, warned contractors against using low quality materials, saying the board would not accept shoddy job from any contractor.
