The former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has advised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as they are not welcome in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sen. Omo-Agege made the declaration during an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas.
He noted that while the party is open to receiving other PDP leaders, including Senator Ned Nwoko and several House of Representatives members, it has no interest in Gov. Oborevwori and Okowa joining its ranks.
Arguing that the APC is gaining strength in Delta State, citing the party’s electoral performance in the 2023 elections, Sen. Omo-Agege said the party won two out of the three senatorial seats, two House of Representatives seats, and five out of nine state House of Assembly seats in Delta Central, while the PDP won none.

The APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, also claimed that despite the presence of a sitting PDP governor and a former vice-presidential candidate in Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas, the APC still secured 25 percent of the votes in the last election.
He criticized the Gov. Oborevwori administration, alleging that it suppresses opposition within the state legislature and discourages lawmakers from speaking out.
Sen. Omo-Agege further stated that the APC remains focused on the 2027 elections and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
He downplayed concerns about internal party disagreements, insisting that any issues within the Delta APC will be resolved before the next election.
He also predicted that PDP’s national crisis would lead to its decline by 2027.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, assured members that the party’s leadership is committed to addressing any internal challenges.
Other APC leaders at the meeting, including Fada Ibudeh, Chief Stevenson Ikpade, Chief Sunny Chuks Obuseh, Fred Ofume, Pst. Paul Ebede, Lady Philomena Agholor, Dr. Goddy Ibeh, Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu, Mr. Godwin Ogadi, and Eugene Uzum, called for unity and reconciliation to strengthen the party ahead of the next elections.
