The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has declared that the welfare of council management staff remains a critical factor in achieving efficient and effective service delivery at the grassroots.
Ogorugba made the statement while inspecting the ongoing construction of modern three-bedroom residential apartments for top council officials at the local government’s residential quarters. The project covers housing for the Vice Chairman, the Secretary to the Local Government, and other key management staff, including the Head of Personnel Management and the Treasurer.
The chairman said investing in projects that improve staff productivity and working conditions aligns with his core responsibility of serving the people of Isoko North. He explained that after completing several major projects last year, his administration identified staff accommodation as a priority area requiring urgent attention.
According to him, allowing senior management staff to live far from the council secretariat negatively affects efficiency and response time, ultimately impacting service delivery to residents. He stressed that proximity to the workplace enhances coordination, accountability, and overall performance in local government administration.
Ogorugba added that his administration remains committed to giving residents a strong sense of belonging through people-oriented projects spread across the local government area. He noted that such initiatives reflect his determination to deliver lasting value and responsive governance to the people of Isoko North.

The residential apartments are designed with modern features, including boys’ quarters, perimeter fencing, and landscaped surroundings, aimed at providing a comfortable and dignified living environment for council officials. The chairman expressed satisfaction with the quality of work carried out so far and urged the contractors to maintain momentum to ensure timely completion.
The inspection tour was attended by senior council officials, including the Head of Personnel Management, Mrs Irene Onwodi, the Treasurer, HRM Queen Ofejiri Ogbogbo, the Head of Works, Engr Patrick Achenu, and the Technical Adviser to the Chairman, Engr Festus Akponovo, among others.
The project is seen as part of broader efforts by the Isoko North Local Government administration to strengthen institutional capacity and improve service delivery through improved staff welfare and infrastructure development.
