A Point of Sale (POS) operator was confirmed dead after a commercial bus allegedly rammed into her in the Berger area of Abuja in the early hours of the morning.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the incident occurred near a filling station when the bus, reportedly driving at high speed, veered off the road and struck the woman as she attempted to cross the road.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was allegedly being chased by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) at the time of the incident.
The impact reportedly flung the victim across the road, while the driver of the bus and the pursuing FRSC vehicle continued without stopping.

Residents said the woman lay on the road for several minutes before police officers from the Utako Police Division arrived at the scene.
She was confirmed dead before any medical assistance could be rendered.
The incident sparked outrage among residents, many of whom raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding the alleged chase and questioned the conduct of those involved.
Reacting to the development, the Federal Road Safety Corps in the Federal Capital Territory said it had commenced an investigation to ascertain whether its personnel were involved in the incident.
The FRSC urged members of the public to refrain from speculation, assuring that the findings of the investigation would be made public once concluded.
