Candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr. Uche Onyeagucha has raised alarm over the increasing wave of kidnapping in Obinze Community in Owerri West LGA of Imo State demanding that something urgent must be done to check the menace.
Onyeagucha who was the immediate past Secretary to Government of Imo State, and a native of Obinze made the disclosure after visiting some suspected hotspots in his Community and other communities in the area.
Concerned about the present state of kidnapping and other acts of violence, the PDP chieftain called on the Inspector General of Police to swiftly intervene to check the escalating wave of kidnapping in Obinze Community and other parts of Owerri West.

He strongly condemned the ugly development in a community that is home to the 34 Artillery Brigade.
“It is unfortunate and reprehensible the rising spate of kidnapping in Obinze and some parts of Owerri West. I promise to engage all relevant security agencies to ensure that such ugly incident is addressed,” he said.
Onyeagucha called on the Inspector-General of Police to kindly intervene by ensuring that all the necessary security measures are put in place to guarantee the safety of lives and property in the area as the people are now living in apprehension and palpable fear.
He used the occasion to urge the people of Obinze and their neighbouring communities to remain calm and be vigilant as efforts are being made to address the ugly situation.
