The presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has arrived at a Federal High Court in Abuja, to face charges of alleged defamation against a police officer, Bukola Kuti, and forgery of police documents.
The publisher of Sahara Reporters claimed that Kuti’s recent promotion to the rank of an assistant police commissioner was not based on merit, implying it was due to her relationship with her superior, Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Sowore has now appeared before Justice Emeka Nwite at the Federal High Court in Abuja, regarding the defamation allegations against Kuti and charges of forgery, including the unlawful sharing of police communications.
Yesterday, he announced on his X account that he would be attending court.
