The South – South Community in Bayelsa State has inducted seven members to help galvanize and mobilize the south- south community in the for the socio- political benefits of its members.
The induction ceremony took place at the palace of the traditional ruler of Isoko residents in Bayelsa State, Chief Nathaniel Ugolo and was performed by Chief Upaka Emma, the Eze – Ochikota l of Egbema, who is the secretary of South – South Council of Chiefs.
The ceremony was attended by political appointtees and representatives of Delta, Rivers, Akwa lbom, and Edo States community and other stakeholders.
Chief Emma in his speech reiterated the importance and premium placed on the South – South Council of Chiefs as a veritable component in the administration and unity of the South South community residents in Bayelsa State.
He charged the newly inducted chiefs to complement the process of peace- building, oneness and unity among the South- South residents in Bayelsa State.
Chief Emma further advised them to collaborate with political appointees in the state for the smooth running of the highest socio-political organization recognized by the Bayelsa State government
“All of you being inducted were qualified in line with the criteria and l welcome you into the South – South Council of Chiefs,” he added.
The seven inductees,according to him met the set criteria and were endorsed by their community leaders, as being worthy of their pedigree.

The seven inductees are Chief Charles Oruru, the immediate past president of the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU), Bayelsa State chapter; Chief Lucky Agbogun, a respected community leader and chieftain of the UPU from Olomu Kingdom, Chief Evans Bardom, Chief William Parkar, Chief Nwosu Godsent, Chief Aigbkhaebholo Anthony and Chief Reverend Osagie.
Speaking to newsmen, one of the newly inductees, Chief Charles Oruru pledged their unwavering commitment to contributing their quota towards the growth and progress of the South – South Community residents in Bayelsa State.
“This is a privileged call to duty and we are poised to move the South – South community as a group of peace-loving people in Bayelsa State to greater heights.
“We need the support and cooperation of all stakeholders,” he stated.
