The police in Yobe State, on Wednesday, said a 20 year-old man, Mai Goni, has reportedly hacked his father, Goni Kawu, to death with a pestle in Masaba, Bursari Local Government Area.

The Command’s spokesman, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, told the New Agency of Nigeria that the incident occurred on Tuesday at about 7:30pm.

He said Kawu (65), sustained a head injury as a result of the attack and was confirmed dead in the hospital.
ASP Abdulkarim said the suspect fled the scene after committing the crime, adding that the Command had intensified effort to apprehend him.
