Dismissed army lance corporal Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as Soja Boi, has responded to the army after it dismissed statements he made during a recent podcast interview, insisting that his claims are truthful and supported by evidence.
The army had earlier described his assertions as false, distancing itself from the viral remarks that sparked widespread debate online.
However, Soja Boi has now pushed back, maintaining that he merely shared his personal experience while in service.
In a follow-up video posted online, the former soldier displayed what he described as payment receipts to support his claims.

According to him, the documents show a breakdown of his earnings, including salary, operational allowances, and other entitlements.
He explained that certain allowances are not fixed, noting that payments such as operational and “cigarette” allowances are only granted when personnel are actively deployed.
“So, if you no dey operation, they no go pay you that one,” he said, while pointing to figures he claimed represented N45,000 for operational allowance and N6,000 for cigarette allowance.
Soja Boi stressed that his intention was not to tarnish the image of the army but to shed light on what he described as the realities within the system.
He also encouraged Nigerians to independently verify his claims by speaking with serving or former military personnel.
