The anticipation for Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four: First Steps has reached a fever pitch following the release of its first trailer. Unveiled at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, the trailer’s nostalgic 1960s space race theme has sparked a wave of reactions across social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter).
Scheduled for an 8 AM ET debut, the teaser showcases a star-studded cast, including Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm. With breathtaking visuals and a fresh take on the beloved superhero team, fans have been quick to share their thoughts, leading to a divided reception.
For many, the highlight was the long-awaited reveal of Galactus. User @EsotericalD was particularly impressed, praising the film’s aesthetics but expressing concern over Robert Downey Jr.’s rumored portrayal of Dr. Doom. “Wow! I am sold. Real Galactus head, great aesthetic. Still worried about RDJ Doom, but this looks really good. Not to hate on the distinguished competition, but I wish the Supes trailer had been this good.”
Others focused on the portrayal of Ben Grimm, aka The Thing. @Busgeeboston found Ebon Moss’ voice performance lacking in depth, stating, “Ebon Moss’ Ben voice is very underwhelming. Ben usually has such a distinct, exaggerated voice. Other than that, pretty good trailer. Costumes look great. Galactus is the highlight.” @Rick echoed similar concerns, questioning why Grimm’s voice remained unchanged post-transformation: “The Thing looks truly fantastic. Best visuals ever. It seems like though that his voice is the same as it was before his transformation. Ben’s insides changed too, so shouldn’t his voice be deeper and more gravelly?”
Not all feedback was positive. @sonidelay criticized the film’s writing and casting choices, particularly Pascal as Mr. Fantastic. “Meh. Another elite IP made average by bad writing and poor casting choices. Pedro Pascal doesn’t work as Reed Richards and Silver Surfer is Norrin Radd. With the exception of No Way Home, you guys have buried the MCU, making it unwatchable.”

Some fans were more optimistic, though. @CollousNick appreciated the visuals but noted the absence of Reed’s iconic stretching abilities in the trailer. “Looks great! Ben’s voice is throwing me off, and there’s no stretchy-stretchy in the trailer, but apart from that, all good stuff 😁. Wonder if Reed doesn’t get his powers till the end or something?”
Meanwhile, @eleroi celebrated the film’s cinematography and Michael Giacchino’s score, calling it a “potentially transformative masterpiece.” “STUNNING shots. MCU movies manage to recapture the beauty of Fantastic Four.
Michael Giacchino’s music score gravitates toward cinematic beauty. This could be a truly transformative masterpiece. Loving the teaser trailer—perfect production. Might be my most hyped movie of the year now!!”
User @fiazfazio praised the trailer’s thematic consistency, suggesting it truly captures the essence of a Fantastic Four film. “So far so good, tbh. Regardless of whether the movie ends up good or bad, it at least has the consistent theme. Based on the trailer, the movie has the feeling of identity. Not trying to act a certain way, other than creating their own. The feeling of a Fantastic Four movie.”
As excitement and skepticism collide, one thing is clear—Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps has reignited the conversation around the iconic superhero team. Whether it soars or stumbles remains to be seen, but for now, the internet is buzzing with anticipation.
