The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has hinted that it has so far registered three million Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under its mass registration programme.
Director General of the agency, Dr Dikko Radda, who disclosed this at the 27th regular valedictory meeting of the governing board of the agency recently, said the process involved moving the MSMEs from informal to formal business and stimulate the development of the sub-sector in a structured and more efficient manner.
Radda commended the board members for a harmonious working relationship during their four-year tenure, adding that the registration process was possible due to the support of the board.

Radda disclosed that the agency introduced major projects and programmes, which had gone a long way in determining the future of MSMEs in the country.
“One of the babies of the board is the mass registration exercise and MSMEs market place database and they have done well. So far, we have registered MSMEs with SMEDAN’s unique identification number.
“The registration is seamless to the extent that people can register in the SMEDAN website using their unique identification number and print their certificates. That has been very good effort and up till date, we have registered over three million MSMEs that have full details of their locations, products, services and their contacts.
