A key witness in the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has told court that Simon Ekpa would soon be repatriated for supporting Kanu, in a testimony on Friday known as PW-AAA.
PW-AAA is a member of the Department of State Services (DSS) and was involved in Kanu’s arrest back in 2015 at a hotel in Lagos.
During questioning by Kanu’s lawyer, Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, the witness shared this information with Justice James Omotosho at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Additionally, the government presented several items found with Kanu, which were submitted as evidence in court.
The items included a range of electronic devices: a black laptop, two transmitters, and multiple iPads, along with speakers, a mini drone, and various modems. There were also personal belongings such as phones, mice, adaptors, and even a pair of shoes and several wristwatches.

Despite a large collection of items being recovered, PW-AAA clarified that no weapons were found with Kanu during his arrest or with a woman who was arrested alongside him.
While the items may not have seemed dangerous, he indicated that their purpose could still be questionable. He also mentioned that he did not analyze the items, as his job was focused on making the arrest and gathering a statement from Kanu.
The judge, Justice Omotosho, has scheduled the next court sessions for May 6, 7, and 8 to continue questioning the witness.
