Delta State’s political landscape has been shaken as Hon. Nicholas Ossai, PhD, former member representing Ndokwa East/Ndokwa West/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Officially resigns from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His resignation, submitted in a letter dated February 8, 2025, was addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward I in Ndokwa West LGA, Delta State.

The letter, which has now gone public, states: “Please accept this letter as a formal notice of my resignation as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ward I, Ndokwa West L.G.A., Delta State, effective today, 8th February, 2025. Thank you. Best regards.”

Ossai’s departure from the PDP is sending ripples across Delta State’s political sphere. As a well-known lawmaker with a strong track record of connecting parliaments with institutions, his exit signals a major shift in power dynamics. His political influence and past leadership roles make this move particularly significant, fueling speculation about his next steps.

Adding to the intrigue, the resignation letter was officially acknowledged by Famous E. Isitchel, the PDP Ward Chairman, who signed a handwritten note confirming receipt. Ossai’s listed address at No. 26 Onu-Obiukwu Street, Kwale, Delta State, underscores his deep-rooted connections to the region.

With this unexpected development, political observers are now weighing the impact of Ossai’s decision on the PDP’s future in Delta State. Will he join another party? Is he gearing up for a fresh political battle? As speculations mount, one thing is clear—this resignation has set the stage for a new political drama in the state.
