Vice President Kashim Shettima will on Monday, April 28, 2025, officially receive Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the entire Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in Delta State into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to a statement issued by the Delta State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Valentine Onojeghuo., the grand reception to formally welcome Gov. Oborevwori, former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, elected members of the National Assembly and the state House of Assembly, local government chairmen across all 25 councils, and a vast majority of PDP members into the APC is scheduled to hold at Cenotaph, Asaba, the state capital from 9:00 am.
The development marks a historic political realignment, described by party leaders as a “massive political earthquake” that has dramatically reshaped the political landscape of Delta State.
Also expected at the event are the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Governor Hope Uzodinma; Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Delta State APC Chairman, Omeni Sobotie; and other members of the APC national and state working committees.
The APC in Delta State said the move signifies a new era of unity, inclusivity, and progress, aligning Gov. Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E agenda with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision for Nigeria.
Party members, stakeholders, and the general public have been urged to mobilize massively and attend what has been described as a defining moment in the political history of Delta State.
