Members of The Sheriffication Movement (TSM) the first support group formed to drum support for the governorship ambition of the Delta State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, converged last Sunday at the country home of the late Hon. Barr. Tim Kome Owhefere KSC, for a general meeting marked by political reflection, strategic planning, and renewed commitment to the MORE Agenda of the Governor.

The meeting commenced with the solemn observance of a one-minute silence in honour of the late Owhefere, a revered legislator fondly remembered as a beacon of legislative sagacity. His contributions to the political landscape of Delta State were hailed as timeless and transformative.

Addressing the gathering, the Director-General of TSM and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media & Strategy, Comr. (Dr.) Palmer Ogheneyole Nathaniel, emphasized that the meeting was convened to give the two-years scorecard of the Oborevwori’s administration to the group, as well as informing them about critical political developments in the state.

He praised the Governor for his legacy imprints in the state and boasted that at the end of this administration in 2031, Oborevwori’s shoes will be too big for whoever takes over thereafter, to wear.

“His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has done a lot for Delta State and its people. In just 24 months in office, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has demonstrated purposeful and people-centered leadership through the implementation of his M.O.R.E Agenda — Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security. Without taking any loans, our administration has prudently managed resources to complete critical infrastructure such as the N78 billion Warri-Effurun flyover network, the dualization of major roads, and the construction of key bridges. One of such roads, the Ughelli-Asaba highway, which you all passed through on your way to this event, a project started over 24 years ago now receiving the most aggressive facelift ever.

“Another notable of personal interest to me is the completed phase 1 of the Emevor-Orogun road and the phase 2 that is at an advanced stage of completion”, he said, adding that;

“As of this moment, over 1,500km of roads and 957km of drainages have been delivered across the state. In education, our administration has expanded access by establishing a new College of Health Technology in Ovrode, the renaming of the university in Ozoro to accommodate more faculties, as well as the expansion of the institution to Oroerokpe. Our administration has been religiously paying bursaries to more than 60,000 students, and recruited over 3,000 new teachers and lecturers”.

While noting that the Oborevwori’s administration reforms has stretched beyond infrastructure to the civil service as well as security, Palmer, widely known as a political godson and confidant of the Governor stated thus;

“Our civil service reforms have improved staff welfare, with salary increment, timely promotions, arrears payments, and provision of brand new utility vehicle support for senior officials.

“Our administration has also made remarkable progress in human capital development, economic empowerment, and security. In November last year, our administration donated 31 operational vehicles to the police and other security agencies. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, personally took delivery of the vehicles in Asaba.

“Aside these, our dear Governor has further moved to strengthen peace and security in the state by setting up a State Peace-Building Council, enhancing the capacity of security agencies, and promoting stability in oil-producing communities.

“In human captital development, our administration magnanimously retained all empowerment initiatives of the previous administration with an addition of the MORE Grant Scheme, D-CARES, and WESAP. As of today, over 250,000 Deltans have received support to boost their livelihoods.

“Other Key achievements include; a modern High Court complex, new housing schemes, and progressive laws on child rights, renewable energy, and urban planning. His performance has earned him multiple Governor of the Year awards from leading national dailies. In April 2025, he made a bold political move by aligning with the ruling APC, signaling a new era of cooperation and accelerated development for Delta State.
He further explained that the group’s recent decision to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC) was a strategic move to connect the state with the successes and progressiveness at the center.

The meeting featured goodwill messages from several party stalwarts. Speaking glowingly of convenener, Hon. Godiva Ugbo described him as “a rare political force whose vision and dedication to promoting the Governor and his administration has transformed into a formidable political bloc in Isoko Nation.”

Also speaking, the APC Chairman of Emevor Ward 7, Hon. Karo Oghogho Phillip, praised Dr. Palmer’s leadership style and political maturity: “Palmer is a bridge-builder, a tireless mobilizer, and a loyal lieutenant of the Governor. Emevor is proud to have him.”

In a symbolic gesture to honour the legacy of Hon. Owhefere, Dr. Palmer declared:

“This residence will continue to host high-profile meetings organized by me in honour of the man who taught us that politics is service and legacy. Owhefere’s spirit lives on in our struggle.”

High point of the event was a motion for the declaration of “no vacancy in Osadebe House (the office of the Governor) till 2031”, moved by the Delta South coordinator of the group, Hon. Wesley Uwaboufu and supported by his Delta South counterpart, Hon. Chief Owopele Ebi.

The meeting had over two hundred persons in attendance drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state.
