The former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, took to his X (Twitter) account on Monday to urge Nigerians impacted by the recent mass visa revocation in the United States to come back home before they risk arrest by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
He emphasized that regardless of how long one resides abroad, they will eventually be reminded that it is not their true home.
Sani stated that “Nigerians and thousands of other Africans whose visas were recently revoked by President Trump should quickly leave the country and return home to avoid potential arrest by ICE.
“No matter how long you enjoy the comforts of your adopted home, you will eventually be reminded that it’s not your father’s house.”

This statement followed reports indicating that the US State Department has revoked at least 80,000 visas since January 2025 under President Donald Trump’s administration, which is more than double the number from the previous year.
A report released last Thursday noted that the revoked visas included 16,000 related to driving under the influence, 12,000 for assault, and 8,000 student visas.
