A two-day workshop designed to foster peaceful resolutions to boundary disputes among seven Nigerian states has commenced in Bauchi State.
Hosted by the state governor, Bala Mohammed, the workshop, as noticed by The Trumpet, brought together boundary managers from the states of Bauchi, Gombe, Yobe, Taraba, Plateau, Jigawa, and Kaduna.
Major move behind the gathering, as revealed by The Trumpet findings, is to develop actionable solutions for long-standing border issues.
Declaring the workshop open , governor Mohammed, who was represented by Deputy Governor Mohammed Auwal Jatau, emphasized his administration’s commitment to supporting peaceful approaches to border disputes.

He urged participants to propose practical recommendations to help resolve boundary challenges across the participating states.
Also speaking, the Director-General of the National Boundary Commission, Surveyor Adamu Adaji, commended the Bauchi State government for hosting the event and reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to amicable solutions for inter-state boundary issues.
Also on his part, the Deputy governor of Gombe State, Dr. Daniel Manasseh, along with representatives of other states, expressed their commitment to addressing boundary concerns through collaboration and dialogue.
