Afrobeats musician Seun Kuti has claimed that a wealthy Nigerian family lost both a loved one and a substantial amount of money after they turned to faith-based healing for terminal cancer.
In a widely circulated video, Kuti shared that the family sought spiritual assistance after doctors abroad reportedly declared the woman’s condition untreatable.
He mentioned that the patient was brought to the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) camp, where prayers and spiritual rituals were conducted with assurances of healing.
Kuti claimed that despite the continuous prayers, the woman died at the camp, leaving her family devastated.
He further alleged that the family spent approximately $250,000 in their quest for divine healing.
The artist criticized the promotion of faith healing for terminal illnesses, arguing that it can create false hope and leave families unprepared for their loss.
He also alleged that following the woman’s death, Pastor Enoch Adeboye instructed the family to cease mourning and promised to pray for her resurrection, telling them to kneel beside her body for an hour while he prayed privately.

“Na him dey carry her body go inside Adeboye place for Redeem Camp. This was after $250,000 don go down.
“Adeboye came out of his balcony, he didn’t even come down to meet them. He told them to stop crying. He will go inside to pray for her to wake up.
“As he pray for one hour, she no wake up, e say na God call am, make them dey go house..” he stated.
