Senator Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduagha of Kogi Central has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment and issuing veiled threats, exposing a disturbing series of late-night phone calls that left her feeling pressured and alarmed.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Arise TV on Thursday, February 27, 2025, Natasha recounted how Akpabio repeatedly called her at odd hours, allegedly making inappropriate advances while simultaneously warning her about political dangers. She described one particular call where Akpabio implied that any repercussions he faced in the Senate would also affect her, creating an atmosphere of intimidation.

According to Natasha, the tone of the call was unsettling, as Akpabio—who typically commanded her respect—sounded unusually anxious and desperate.

The controversy escalated when, in another call, Akpabio reportedly expressed frustration over the backlash he and his wife were facing, blaming Natasha for the attacks. He attempted to absolve her, insisting that the hostility stemmed from his own decisions, but Natasha saw through the manipulation.

The conversation took an even darker turn when Akpabio allegedly revealed that The Dien of Agbor had advised him to flee Abuja during the end bad governance protest, warning that he was now one of Nigeria’s most despised politicians, with protesters baying for his blood.

Natasha also disclosed that Akpabio issued a chilling threat, vowing to retaliate against anyone over the age of 20 who dared to confront him during the protests. Alarmed by the intensity of the call, Natasha immediately woke her husband and placed Akpabio on speakerphone. Upon realizing he was being overheard, the Senate President reportedly shifted his tone, attempting to calm the situation by bringing up the possibility of a government appointment for Natasha’s husband—an apparent effort to pacify her.

Despite Akpabio’s later suggestion that he could offer a public apology, Natasha remained deeply disturbed by the entire episode. The senator made it clear that she recognized the gravity of the situation and saw the need to document the interactions, hinting at potential evidence to support her claims.

As Nigerians react to this bombshell, all eyes are now on Akpabio’s response and the potential fallout from this unfolding scandal.
