Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas joins family, friends, constituents, and Deltans at large in celebrating the 70th birthday of His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the former Executive Governor of Delta State (2007–2015). Dr. Uduaghan, a leader fondly referred to as “Asamaigor,” is being hailed for his significant contributions to the development of Delta State, and his role as a mentor to many prominent figures in the state, including Senator Thomas.

In a heartfelt tribute, Senator Joel-Onowakpo expressed deep gratitude to the man he calls his “political father.” Reflecting on Uduaghan’s tenure as governor, Senator Thomas praised his leadership and his transformative three-point agenda focused on Human Capital Development, Infrastructure Development, and Peace and Security. These initiatives, he noted, showcased Uduaghan’s exceptional ability to nurture talent and spur meaningful development across the state.

Uduaghan’s mentorship continued to play a pivotal role in Senator Joel-Onowakpo’s political journey. When the Senator sought guidance on contesting for a seat in the National Assembly, Uduaghan provided not only advice but also steadfast support, helping to shape his success as a public servant.

“Your visionary leadership has produced dedicated individuals who contribute immensely to nation-building at all levels of government,” Senator Joel-Onowakpo wrote in his tribute, recognizing the former governor’s impact on his mentees and Delta State as a whole.
