The Senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial District, Manu Haruna has distributed 500 laptops to students from five local government areas of the state who participated in a two-day ICT training organized by the senator.
Speaking at the end of the training programme, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Usman Aruwa, encouraged the students to embrace ICT as it’s the leading light worldwide.
He said that the ICT training programme is aimed at preparing the beneficiaries for the proposed Taraba State Technology Village being championed by Governor Agbu Kefas.
“You’re here today, as beneficiaries of the Senator Manu’s sponsored programme in preparation for the proposed Taraba Technology Village. I want you to be prepared because you have been adequately prepared for this massive project,” the commissioner said.

He explained what the technology village entails and how they can further empower themselves in the near future.
Also speaking, the state House of Assembly member representing Bali 1 State Constituency, Veronica Alhassan, advised the students to take advantage of the knowledge they obtained at the 2-day training programme, to empower themselves in the future and become role models to others.
Students who took part in the ICT outreach were drawn from Gassol, Bali, Kurmi, Sardauna and Gashaka Local Government Areas of Taraba State.
