The Senate has officially passed the National Identity Management Commission Repeal and Enactment Bill 2025.
On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC/Ekiti), introduced a motion to revisit and pass the bill after it had already been approved once.
He explained that the National Assembly identified some important issues that needed to be addressed, leading to this new legislative action.
To refine the bill, a technical committee made up of members from the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Directorate of Legal Services met to discuss the necessary changes.
