The Nigerian Senate on Thursday approved 64 appointments for Career and Non-Career Ambassadors to represent the country internationally.
The approvals followed the presentation and adoption of the report by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, led by Senator Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger North). Senator Bello stated that the committee had thoroughly vetted the nominees, confirming that they met all legal requirements and guidelines for diplomatic appointments.
Of the confirmed nominees, 34 were designated as Career Ambassadors, while 30 were appointed as Non-Career Ambassadors.

Haidara Mohammed Idris (Kebbi), Amb. Bako Adamu Umar (Kogi), Amb. Shaga John Shamah (Nasarawa), Amb. Ibrahim Danlami (Niger), Reuben Abimbola Samuel (Ondo), Amb. Akande Wahab Adekola (Osun), Amb. Luther Ogbomode Ayo-Kalata (Rivers), Danladi Yakubu Nyaku (Taraba), and Bello Dogon-Daji Haliru (Sokoto).

Of the 65 Ambassador-designates submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, only Adamu Garba Talba Nangree from Yobe State remains unconfirmed. Nangree was absent during the Senate Committee’s screening last week, but Senator Bello confirmed ongoing communication with him.
