Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has lodged a new complaint against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Sandra Duru.
This complaint has been directed to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, as well as to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi.
In her complaint, Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan accused the Senate president and Duru of engaging in criminal conspiracy, slander, and offenses related to cyberbullying.
The complaint specifies that Akpabio and Duru are purportedly behind a harmful scheme targeted at her person.
Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan added that the scheme against her include slander, cyber harassment, and an assassination attempt.
She remarked that “the charges against me are unfounded and part of a plot to damage my professional and personal standing.
“I am concerned for my safety and that of my family because of the ongoing harassment and threats.”
The Kogi State senator asserts that Duru, while assuming the identity of ‘Prof. Mgbeke’, initially acted as an ally but eventually sought compensation for creating “framing narratives” and gathering online support.
According to her, when she refused the demands, Duru is said to have initiated a smear campaign.
Natasha’s legal representatives stated that “we are confident that the evidence will reveal a calculated effort to tarnish and jeopardize our client through false claims.”
The complaint further claimed that Senator Akpabio had motives for revenge against Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan after she openly accused him of sexual harassment in February 2025.
The suspended senator has also called on the inspector-general of police and the minister of justice to address the purported attempt on her life allegedly connected to the Senate president.

In a complaint dated May 15, 2025, submitted by her attorney, Ehiogie West-Idahosa, Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed that the petition is bolstered by undeniable evidence from public broadcasts, testimonials from witnesses, media coverage, and expert evaluations.
She pointed out that the information at her disposal indicates a targeted retaliatory initiative by Akpabio, utilizing intermediaries and available resources to inflict harm on her.
Sen. Akpoti-Uduaghan urged Fagbemi and Egbetokun to scrutinize the commentary and actions of third-party associates who publicly supported the defamatory broadcasts against her, to assess their awareness of and involvement in the alleged conspiracy.
“Our position is that the actions taken against our client constitute a criminal operation that infringes upon several laws.
“We sincerely request that your office diligently investigate the details of this complaint and ensure that justice is served promptly to anyone found culpable, regardless of their societal standing in Nigeria,” she conveyed through her attorney.
