The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring transparency and efficiency in the distribution of relief materials to internally displaced persons and vulnerable residents affected by flooding across Taraba State.
The agency disclosed over the weekend that the relief items were supplied by the state government in collaboration with various donor agencies, as part of ongoing efforts to mitigate the impact of flood disasters in the state.
Speaking on the development, the Executive Secretary of the agency, Echuseh, stated that more than 50,000 IDPs and other flood victims have so far benefited from the distribution exercise across different parts of the state.
She described SEMA as a critical agency in addressing humanitarian challenges, noting that its operations are driven by accountability, transparency, and a strong commitment to service delivery.

Echuseh also called on residents to disregard reports in some sections of the media questioning her management of the relief materials, insisting that such claims are unfounded.
She assured that under her leadership, the agency would continue to strengthen its efforts to deliver timely and effective assistance to those in need.
The agency reiterated its resolve to support vulnerable populations and enhance its emergency response mechanisms to better handle future disasters in the state.
