Attempt to cart away public transformers in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State by hoodlums, has been thwarted.
The efforts of concerned residents in Obudu and the prompt intervention of the Nigeria Police Force, foiled the latest move by the unscrupulous individuals.
The Cross River State Government has described it as reprehensible” and a direct attack on the collective resources meant for the good of all citizens.

Government has also issued a strong condemnation of the repeated attempts to steal and vandalize public transformers in the LGA.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Asset Management and Recovery, Barr. Gilbert Agbor, government has expressed deep concern over the continued abuse and unlawful conversion of public assets.
Reacting to the incident, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, has directed the Department of Asset Management and Recovery to work closely with security agencies to uncover and prosecute all individuals involved in the criminal act.
