Nigerian music producer Samklef has weighed in on the ongoing controversy involving singer Crayon, who recently criticized his former label boss, Don Jazzy, and the record label Mavin Records in a series of social media posts.
Crayon, who joined Mavin Records in 2019, took to social media in several posts, later deleted, where he made allegations against Don Jazzy.
The singer accused the music executive of being responsible for his mother’s death and claimed he was owed unpaid royalties from his work under the label.
The ‘Ijo Labalaba’ crooner also alleged that large sums of money had been generated from his music without him receiving his rightful share.
According to him, delays in payments were repeatedly used against him, and he hinted that he would soon reveal more details about his experience with the label.
Reacting to the controversy, Samklef suggested that Don Jazzy’s fortunes may have changed following his association with social media activist VeryDarkMan.
In a post shared online, Samklef questioned whether recent events surrounding Mavin Records could be a form of karma.
He also commented on the label’s artists, including Ayra Starr, whose recent appearance in a music video he criticized.

“I told you Jazzy would get exposed soon! They’ve seen Don Jazzy for who he is; Crayon even referred to him as his boy,” Samklef wrote.
He continued: “Ever since Don Jazzy got involved with a very dark man, none of the signed artists have been successful.
“Ayra Starr looked stressed in her last video. Something is off. Could this be karma? There’s one person who Don Jazzy has taken advantage of, and that’s what I really want to talk about! And have you noticed that once any artist leaves me… hmmm.”
As of now, neither Don Jazzy nor Mavin Records has issued an official response to the claims.
