Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has made history by winning his third PFA Men’s Player of the Year award, while Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey has been honoured as the Women’s Player of the Year.
In other categories, James Trafford was recognized in the Championship, Richard Kone in League One, and Michael Cheek in League Two.
Salah had an impressive season, netting 29 goals and providing 18 assists, helping Arne Slot’s team secure the Premier League title last year.
The 33-year-old Egyptian’s exceptional performance in the 2024/25 season led to overwhelming support from PFA members, making him the first player to win the award three times.
This PFA accolade adds to his earlier achievement of winning his third Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award, tying the record.
Caldentey, 29, who joined Arsenal last summer, scored 19 goals across all competitions, including eight during the Gunners’ Champions League triumph against her former team, Barcelona.
Olivia Smith, who recently transferred to Arsenal in a record-breaking deal, was named PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year after an outstanding season at Liverpool.

The Men’s Young Player of the Year award went to Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, who expressed his ambition to play in the World Cup next.
Salah is joined in the 2024/25 PFA Premier League Team of the Year by Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, and Alexis Mac Allister.
Milos Kerkez, who transferred to Anfield from Bournemouth, is also included, alongside Arsenal’s William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Declan Rice.
Despite being nominated for Player of the Year, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes did not make the final XI.
The PFA Women’s Super League Team of the Year features two players from champions Chelsea: Erin Cuthbert and Millie Bright.
James Trafford, now with Manchester City, has become the first goalkeeper to win the Championship Player of the Year award, thanks to his outstanding performances during Burnley’s promotion campaign.
Additionally, seven players from Birmingham have been selected for the Sky Bet League One Team of the Year.
