Russia has delivered 313 tonnes of medical supplies to Iran as part of an ongoing humanitarian assistance effort, officials confirmed on Friday.
The consignment, coordinated by Russian emergency services, was transported by rail to the border city of Astara, where it was formally handed over to Iranian authorities.
Officials said the delivery marks the second batch of medical aid sent by Russia to Iran in recent weeks, underscoring deepening cooperation between both countries at a time of escalating tensions in the region.
In a parallel effort, an additional shipment of humanitarian supplies was routed through Azerbaijan, with multiple trucks conveying over 140 tonnes of relief materials into Iran.
